Segment Producers Duties
On The Edge is working in a three-week cycle.
First Step :
Pitch your story to On The Edge Producer, Peter Martinez, at titancommsupport@fullerton.edu or call 657-278-2836, to get approval. This is an ongoing process; you may pitch your story at any time. The producer of the show oversees the project at all times, contacts crew, schedules shoots and is also available to answer questions.
Open Audition for Anchor :
Hosts for the show will be auditioning prior to week 1 of cycle. Anchor’s responsibility is to write the script and also type it up for the teleprompter. An anchor also provides own wardrobe and makeup.
Second step :
Segment producers are responsible for finding the story, reporting, shooting, and editing, it’s your job to find a cameraman and/or editor if you do not know how to do that yourself. You are also responsible to complete your project and meet standards for production values. You have about two weeks to work on your story, from the first Sunday to the second Thursday.
Week 1 : Work on story
Week 2 : Script and footage due Thursday
Week 3 : Shoot on Monday or Tuesday, Edit Wednesday
On The Edge The Editor can help you edit your story, please e-mail him for assistance and/or check his schedule to see when he is in.
Third Step :
E-mail producer at titancommsupport@fullerton.edu stating the completion of your story, what computer it is saved on, what folder and the name of it.. (Do not use the On The Edge hard drive.) Also e-mail your story’s intro and closing, verbatim along with your credits. If there is any problem with the video we will contact you ASAP.
Third Week :
The Editor will be editing everything together. Anchors come in that Monday or Tuesday for the shoot.
It will be a smooth process if you follow this cycle. Don’t miss deadlines it may result in your story not being on the show.
Advisor/ Consultant, Eraj Shadaram oversees complete production, oversees technical, quality, concept, and execution of the show. He also oversees the staff and promotes On The Edge. |
